Day of Service

Reflections from Day of Service 2017

ABOUT

Mark your calendar! With 15 different community volunteer projects, we have service opportunities for all ages and abilities. Have fun, meet new people, go home tired and know you’ve made a difference in our community! Sign up online here or after worship on 10/22 or 10/29.  For general questions and information contact Amie Hellauer (757-652-6509)  or Marc Henderson (781-424-9284).

In the parable of the good samaritan, Jesus teaches us that our neighbors may be different from us, they may not be who we expect. If we are to truly love our neighbors, we must serve them and lift their burden. Often our lives are so busy that it feels impossible to find the time to volunteer. On this Saturday, we hope that everyone has a chance to use their skills and talents to assist others.

South Church has held this annual Day of Service for 17 years. By welcoming the larger community to come and serve with us, we hope to strengthen the bonds between all our neighbors. Please join us.

Can't make it on November 4th? We are accepting all sorts of donations. Click here!
