Terry Ebner

Terry grew up in Kirkwood, Missouri, moving to Sarasota, Florida while in high school. She met her husband, Michael Ebner, while attending Rollins College where she graduated with a BA degree in English. As parents of young children, Terry and her husband became active Christian Education/Youth Ministry lay leaders in the United Methodist Church. Hearing a call to new adventures and ordained ministry, they moved from Florida to the Boston area with their three children in 1992 where Mike attended seminary and Terry taught preschool.

Terry came to South Church in 1995 to serve as Director of Christian Education and shortly after enrolled in a Masters of Religion program at Andover Newton Theological School. She and her family moved to Phillips Academy in 1997, where Mike was Chaplain, and they both became Dormitory House Councilors and Academic Advisors.

Terry has enjoyed a wide range of responsibilities at South Church. She develops programs, nurtures and teaches faith formation for all ages and stages, leads worship services and empowers others to faith-filled leadership.

In 2011 Terry was installed as a Licensed Minister at South Church and is currently in care with the UCC, working toward Commissioned Ministry in the specialized field of Christian Education. She enjoys all aspects of parish ministry, but her passion and expertise are in the field of Christian Spiritual Formation.

Now a grandmother of two little boys, Terry enjoys family visits, entertaining friends, hiking with her husband and frisky labradoodle, traveling, reading good books and taking advantage of all the cultural and beautiful outdoor opportunities in New England every chance she gets.
