This season, we’re leaning into wonder—the very heart of the Advent story. Mary’s wonder at impossible news. Joseph’s wonder at choosing trust over fear. The shepherds’ wonder at angels breaking through an ordinary night shift. The Magi’s wonder at following a star across the desert. They didn’t manufacture these moments—they simply let themselves be interrupted by mystery.

We’ll sing your favorite Advent hymns and Christmas carols, hear inspiring messages, and dive deep into the wonder of the season.

Gift Donations

South Church’s generosity is always shining throughout the Advent season. We are grateful to again offer multiple ways to lift others up this season.

  • Make the holidays brighter for local children.
    Our traditional Giving Tree provides an opportunity to purchase gifts from children’s wish lists in programs at Communities Together and The Boys & Girls Club in Lawrence.
  • Hazel’s Holiday Heroes (HHH) will create holiday magic for up to 75 foster children in local group homes this year. You can support HHH by sponsoring a child (approximately $100). Email Andrea by December 5th.

Poinsettia Orders

Join the decades-old tradition of ordering a poinsettia to decorate the South Church sanctuary! Immediately following the December 21st service Deacons will deliver plants to friends in our church family, except for those you pick up. Order deadline is Monday, December 8th. Plants cost $14 each.
