Beyond the Screen

April 6 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

The Social Justice Coalition is hosting movie nights! We’ll discuss how social-justice-related films inform, inspire, and challenge us to consider new ideas, perspectives and actions. Our first movie will be Ava Duvernay’s Selma which is available on multiple platforms. Try Kanopy, a free film streaming service offered through public libraries: link here to learn about Kanopy thru Andover’s Memorial Hall Library.

Plan to watch Ava Duvernay’s award winning film on your own if you can, and then gather to watch highlighted movie clips, share in discussion and dessert. We look forward to looking through the lens of Micah 6:8 – to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God – to share understandings, experiences and convictions.  Future movies will be suggested/selected with input from the group. Click here for help with accessing the film or with questions.
